Senior Accountant – Manufacturing

Location: South Houston, TX Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Employment Type: Contract with potential to convert to permanent Permanent Salary Range: Approximately $80,000–$100,000

A global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to provide hands-on accounting support during a period of organizational and systems change.

This is a broad accounting role within a lean finance team and is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas rather than being limited to one narrow function. The Senior Accountant will support month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, audit activities, and aspects of project and cost accounting.

The company is also preparing for an ERP transition, so candidates who are comfortable working across multiple systems and adapting to changing processes will be particularly successful.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and support financial reporting
• Research account discrepancies and resolve accounting issues
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits
• Support project and cost accounting activities
• Assist with manufacturing-related accounting and cost analysis
• Work across multiple accounting and financial systems
• Support accounting process improvements and ERP transition activities
• Partner closely with the Controller and Finance Manager
• Assist with additional accounting projects as business needs evolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Approximately 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Hands-on journal entry and account reconciliation experience
• Experience preparing or supporting financial statements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently research and resolve accounting issues
• Comfortable working in a lean accounting environment with broad responsibilities
• Strong systems aptitude
• Ability to work onsite five days per week

• Manufacturing or industrial accounting
• Cost accounting
• Project accounting
• Inventory or production accounting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Audit support
• ERP implementation or system-conversion experience
• Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or NAV experience
