Job Description

The Associate Pastor is a senior shepherd-leader at Park Hill Church who serves alongside the Co-Lead Pastors in carrying pastoral and organizational leadership. The heart of this role is pastoral—supporting community group leaders as they shepherd the congregation, caring for staff, and preaching the Word. Description Position Overview: The Associate Pastor is a senior shepherd-leader at Park Hill Church who serves alongside the Co-Lead Pastors in carrying pastoral and organizational leadership. The heart of this role is pastoral—supporting community group leaders as they shepherd the congregation, caring for staff, and preaching the Word. In close partnership with Evan and Sandy, this leader helps translate the church’s vision into the rhythms of the staff team by shaping annual and 90-day goals and weekly priorities that are spiritually grounded and cross-functionally aligned. The Associate Pastor also helps steward the church’s organizational and financial health, working with the Lead Pastor and Administrative Coordinator to maintain appropriate oversight and segregation of duties. Hours & Pay: This is a full time salaried position with benefits. The expected salary will be anywhere between $80,000 and $120,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 403(b) match and unlimited PTO. Reports To: Evan & Sandy, Co-Lead Pastors, Park Hill Church. Key Responsibilities: Proactively care for and equip the church’s 60+ community group leaders by providing training, encouragement, and pastoral support, stepping in when challenges require additional pastoral care. Preach up to 12 times per year as part of the regular Sunday teaching rotation, in alignment with the Lead Pastor’s vision and sermon series. Serve as a key support and manager for the staff which works remotely (no central office), helping cultivate a healthy, aligned, and mission-focused culture. Work with full-time staff to translate annual ministry goals into clear 90-day objectives and weekly priorities, with regular check-ins alongside the Co-Lead Pastors. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and alignment among ministry leaders, including Pastor of Kids & Families, Engagement Pastor, and Director of Worship and Production. Lead the development of the church’s annual budget in partnership with the Lead Pastor and Board Chair, and present it to the board for approval. Provide collaborative financial oversight with the Administrative Coordinator, who operates in a dual-reporting relationship with this role and the Co-Lead Pastors. Serve as a key approver in the church’s purchasing and expense processes, ensuring appropriate oversight and segregation of duties. Monitor the church’s financial health throughout the year and surface recommendations or concerns to the Lead Pastor and Board Chair. Participate as needed in broader financial oversight with the Board Chair and designated lay elders who hold bank signing authority alongside the Lead Pastor. Qualifications: Deep alignment with Park Hill Church's mission, values, and vision for a bridge-building, Jesus-centered community. Demonstrated pastoral gifting—someone who loves people, preaches with clarity and grace, and leads with humility. Minimum 10 years experience in organizational leadership, team development, or staff management in a church or ministry context. Experience with budget oversight, financial stewardship, and goal-setting frameworks. A genuine shepherd's heart for small group ministry and lay leader development. MDiv or equivalent preferred; commitment to orthodox Christian faith required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Parkhillsd
