DEPARTMENT: Creative & Strategic Communication REPORTS TO: Paulina Scholes DESCRIPTION A student assistant in the Creative & Strategic Communication office provides support for the marketing and public relations initiatives designed to enhance the perception of the University and attract students and donors. The student assistant is a critical component of daily operations of the marketing team, often interacting directly with in-house clients or completing important behind-the-scenes work for later public consumption. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create new graphic designs for social media, web, and print use Update existing designs to reflect new information Work with in-house clients to determine needs and make recommendations Work with members of the marketing team and make recommendations Produce graphics for major Pitt State projects – magazine, viewbook, etc. – as assigned Adhere to the Pitt State brand guideline General office duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of and experience in Adobe Creative Suite Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proper grammar and spelling Attention to detail, deadlines, organization skills, and follow-through Proactive problem-solving skills Ability to learn new skills and take direction from many sources Ability to be creative within the confines of a brand guideline Familiarity with social media and web content design principles Proficient in Microsoft suite of products Customer service-minded and ability to work quickly in an office environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team #J-18808-Ljbffr
