Industrial Pipe Welder (Local) Job Title: Industrial Pipe Welder – Local / Plant Work Company: Four Square Industrial Constructors, LLC Location: Petersburg, VA (local and regional industrial facilities) Job Type: Full-Time About the Role Four Square Industrial Constructors, LLC is hiring experienced Industrial Pipe Welders for local plant and industrial facility projects. This role focuses on welding carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe for process, utility, and mechanical systems in manufacturing, power, and other heavy industrial environments, working closely with pipefitters and other crafts. Key Responsibilities Perform GTAW/TIG and SMAW/Stick (and, where applicable, GMAW/MIG) welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe to meet project and code requirements. Weld pipe in multiple positions (2G, 3G, 5G, 6G) on socket weld and butt weld joints. Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, weld symbols, and P&IDs to understand joint details and welding sequence. Work with pipefitters on fit-up, verifying alignment, root gaps, bevels, and cleanliness prior to welding. Inspect completed welds for defects, support NDE as required, and repair as necessary to meet quality standards. Set up, maintain, and safely operate welding machines, leads, and tools, keeping work areas organized. Follow all company and site safety policies, including PPE, hot work permits, and fire watch requirements. Required Qualifications 3+ years of industrial pipe welding experience in plant, refinery, power, or heavy industrial settings. Ability to pass company weld tests (for example, 6G carbon steel, TIG root/Stick fill and cap, or project-specific procedures). Proficient in reading blueprints, weld symbols, and piping drawings. Solid understanding of weld quality, defect causes, and safe welding practices. Able to pass a drug screen and meet client/site access requirements. Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, and indoors/outdoors in varying conditions. Preferred Qualifications Current or prior pipe welder certifications (ASME, AWS, or client-specific). Experience with local plant maintenance, small capital projects, and tie-ins. Familiarity with stainless and alloy piping; sanitary or high-purity is a plus where applicable. OSHA 10/30, TWIC, MSHA, or similar industrial safety credentials.
