Instructional Aide - Oceanside School District (Oceanside, CA)

$20/hour | Monday-Friday | School Hours

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aides to support teachers and students in classrooms within the Oceanside School District . This role involves working closely with students who require instructional and/or behavioral assistance, helping create a positive and supportive learning environment.

The Instructional Aide works under the supervision of the special education department, classroom teacher, and/or assigned school leadership to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with academic or behavioral needs

• Help implement individualized education and behavior plans

• Support students with personal care, mobility, or therapeutic needs as directed by appropriate professionals

• Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment

• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff to support student progress

• Document student progress and observations as required

Pay & Schedule

• $20 per hour

• Full-time or part-time opportunities available

• Monday-Friday during standard school hours

• Consistent weekly schedule aligned with the school calendar

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Must comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR certification (if applicable)

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children or students in an educational setting

• Background in special education or behavioral support

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Patience, reliability, and a passion for helping students succeed
